The main protein found in Comfrey, allantoin, is responsible for all those wonderful treatments. Comfrey's latin name is Symphytum officinale. The prefix, Symph, comes from a Greek term that means "to join". This speaks to its ability to help broken bones become joined again.
Due to its ability to help with so many different things, including rashes and ezcema, we include comfrey in our (to be released later this year) baby bottom balm. It helps treat and soothe diaper rashes very effectively. It is a very dark colored herb and lends its color nicely to our balm. Keep an eye out for the announcement for the release date of the baby bottom balm.
